The Kuder Career Planning System is Internet-based;
therefore, system users can access the system at any time and from any place an
Internet connection is available. The main Kuder home page is
www.KUDER.com. Some states have state-specific portal pages
which can be accessed by typing the appropriate URL, if known, into the browser
bar or by selecting the state from the dropdown menu on the main Kuder home
page.
The returning user login allows system users to access the Kuder
Career Portfolio by entering their name and password. The user name and
password are established by the user the first time he or she registers as a
New User.
The administrative database login allows the administrator to log
in to the Administrative Database Management System. This access code and
password are assigned and supplied by National Career Assessment Services, Inc.
(NCASI) and should not be given to students, clients, or any unauthorized
personnel.
System users have lifelong access to their career portfolios.
Yes. The Kuder Career Planning System protects the privacy
and integrity of personally identifiable user information with
industry-standard SSL encryption and a self-created user name and password.
Administrative Database access is only given to approved school districts or
campuses through assigned access codes and passwords. Additionally, our servers
are housed in a state-of-the-art, carrier-class facility that includes secured
access, environmental controls, and backup power sources. Our network is
monitored 24/7.
No, but providing an e-mail address is recommended. Having an
e-mail address entered in the Account Information area (completed during
initial registration and updatable at any time under the “My Profile” section)
allows the individual to request a user name and password reminder to be sent
to the e-mail address on file.
As long as you have Internet access you can use the system. We
recommend setting your resolution to a minimum of 800 X 600. You will need to
have your cookies enabled.
From the Kuder home page, select “Returning Users.” Then
click on the “Forgot your login information?” link, and then choose from two
options:
1. I want to have my user name and password e-mailed to me using
the e-mail entered into my Kuder Portfolio.
2. I want to re-enter my password using a secret question and
answer entered when I registered with the Kuder Career Planning System.
*Note: If an individual does not remember his or her user name and
did not enter an e-mail address, administrators may look up the user name
through the Administrative Database Management System; however, this option is
only available if a student has started at least one assessment or has entered
the school code at registration. Administrators may also reset the password
from the database.
If you have been provided a batch code by an instructor, counselor,
or administrator but don’t remember it, you will need to see the person who
initially provided it to you.
If you are an administrator, log in to the Administrative Database
Management System, and select “Batch Code Information” from the navigation
menu. Locate the batch code in the table.
Be sure you are entering the batch code exactly as provided. The
number 0 often looks like the letter O, as does the number 1 to the letter l.

The following assessments are available:
1. Kuder Career Search with Person Match (interests
inventory)
2. Kuder Skills Assessment
3. Super’s Work Values Inventory-revised
The Kuder Career Search with Person Match take an average of
20 minutes to complete. The Kuder Skills Assessment and Super’s Work
Values Inventory-revised each take an average of 15 minutes to
complete.
This is up to each individual or site. It may be beneficial to
stagger the assessments so students are able to experience each assessment at
least twice before they graduate from high school. Instructors, please refer to
the Classroom Application section of the Training Guide for more information.
Results are immediate and provided online.
Yes, all three assessments are available in Spanish.
No, assessment takers may stop completing an assessment at any time
and finish it later. Unfinished assessments will be available the next time the
individual logs in and will appear on the portfolio home page under the “To Do
List.”
Yes, people in the Person Match database are actual people who
enjoy their jobs and have taken the Kuder Career Search with Person Match.
The Person Match sketches that appear on the Kuder Career Search report
represent people whose interest inventory results are most similar to the
assessment taker’s.
All assessments were re-normed in July, 2005. The data against
which assessment results are compared and which determines rank order of career
clusters, skills, and work values were re-normalized to ensure results can be
interpreted in current context. The re-norming included people from all states
and territories of the United States, all ethnicities, diverse economic
backgrounds, and ages from middle school through adult.
Yes, system users can make any of their resumés available for
others to view by selecting the “Public” option then sending recipients a link
to the resumé via an e-mail option accessible on the Edit Resumé page.
Yes, although searches default to the state in which the individual
registered, system users can select a different state at any time by choosing a
state from the dropdown menu located within the search criteria.
From the Kuder home page, click on the “Administrators”
link. On the Administrative Login page, enter your access code and password
which has been provided to your site by NCASI. You will be directed to your
agency’s site.
Contact NCASI Customer Support toll free at 877-999-6227. For
security purposes, callers will be asked some basic information; then the
implementation information with the access code and password will be re-sent
via e-mail.
Batch codes both allow students/clients to take the assessments and
align their results with their corresponding school or agency, meaning their
results will be routed to the school’s or agency’s Administrative Database.
Batch code information can be found in the Administrative Database Management
System in the area titled “Batch Code Information.” Each batch code starts with
a letter and corresponds with a specific assessment. Important: Do not
share batch codes with another school; batch codes are school-specific.
Log in to the Administrative Database Management System, and select
“Batch Code Information” from the navigation menu. Locate the batch code in the
table.
Be sure you are entering the batch code exactly as provided. The
number 0 often looks like the letter O, as does the number 1 to the letter l.

At the screen for Advanced Reports, use the menus to select any
data you wish to use to develop your filter criteria. You may also filter by
specific assessments. When you have completed your selections click on either
“Individuals” or “Aggregate.” Remember, when using any filter options you will
only see those individuals who meet every aspect of the filter. To see the
results of everyone who has completed an assessment, don’t enter any data and
simply click on “Individuals” or “Aggregate.”
If you are filtering a large number of records you may want to
reduce the size of your query. For example, it may help to filter males and
females separately, or choose a smaller group by establishing a date range.
In order to align a student’s information with a new site, students
must enter at least one batch code for an assessment which has been assigned by
the new site. Students do not need to complete the assessment in order for the
new alignment to take effect. Alternately, students may update their link to a
building by entering the access code and corresponding ZIP code for the new
school on the Account Information page under My Portfolio.
